Sea Creature Mousefits, Crab, Clownfish & Turtle
This pattern is for the mouse and its 3 sea creature costumes – a crab, a clownfish & a turtle!
The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.
You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I mainly used King Cole Cherished DK (equivalent to weight 3 / light worsted weight) and my finished mouse measures approximately 10cm tall. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn throughout your project.
For the mouse (pages 4 - 8), you will need the following colours:
- Main mouse colour - I used pale grey or cream (approx. 23.5m per mouse).
- Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 13m per mouse).
For the crab mousefit (pages 9 - 10), you will need the following colour:
- Dress / Claws colour - I used red (approx. 22.5m).
For the clownfish mousefit (pages 11 - 14), you will need the following colours:
- Main Colour - I used orange (approx. 28.5m).
- Stripe Colour - I used white (approx. 8.5m).
- End of Fins Colour - I used black (approx. 3m).
For the turtle mousefit (pages 15 - 19), you will need the following colours:
- Shell, Hat & Flippers Colour - I use light brown (approx. 19.5m).
- Body Colour - I use light green (approx. 13.5m).
Please note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.
You will also need:
- A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
- A pair of 6mm black safety eyes per mouse, as well as for the clownfish and turtle costumes.
- 2 black beads for adding the eyes to the crab costume.
- Some toy stuffing.
- Small amounts of black finer yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face (optional) and to the faces on the costumes.
- A small amount of cream yarn or thread for adding the details to the turtle’s shell.
- Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
Thank you
