Sea Mist is a pattern for cute and warm mittens. The mittens feature a neat tubular cast-on, long cuffs for warm wearing, Indian thumb gusset and a fun stitch pattern called Thorn stitch. Thorn stitch is worked as stripes but a combination of decreases, increases and slipped stitches will make it look like something completely different. Please note the Child size mittens are worked on a smaller needle to make them more windproof for playing outside.

Needles
US 4 (3.5 mm), US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 6 (4.0 mm) - 36’’ / 100 cm long circular needles for magic loop or dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge.

Gauge
Child: 11 sts × 17 rnds = 2×2’’ / 5×5 cm in thorn stitch worked in the round on US 5 (3.75 mm) needle (after blocking),

Adult: 10 sts × 14 rnds = 2×2’’ / 5×5 cm in thorn stitch worked in the round on US 6 (4.0 mm) needle (after blocking).
