SEAFIELD is an all-over textured yoke sweater. It is the sister to my popular Sea Haven sweater, and cousin to the Sea Whisper cowl and Sea Spray hat patterns. This time I mashed up part of Sea Whisper’s stitch pattern to form a new wheat-like textured stitch, which commences in the yoke and continues well into the body and sleeves.

This top-down, in the round sweater is worked seamlessly using two strands of yarn held together. The lace silk mohair gives this sweater extra snuggly-ness for those colder days, plus the luxurious feel of this sweater will leave you finding any excuse to wear it.

If not using magic loop for sleeves, then a set of double pointed needles will be required. Spare needle or smooth waste yarn for holding live sts. Tapestry/Darning needle Stitch marker: 1.

GAUGE
Both strands of yarn held together:
18 sts x 26 rnds = 10cm x 10cm (4”x 4”) in stocking stitch worked in the round after blocking on largest needle. Tip: Block and pin swatch, and leave to dry.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
Seafield is worked in one piece, in the round, from the top down, commencing with the yoke.
Some short rows occur straight away for a higher back neck area, followed by some stocking stitch before commencing the textured wheat stitch pattern. The body is then worked to the hem, and then the sleeves are worked from the bottom of the yoke to the cuff, finishing with a tubular bind off. Finally, the mock turtleneck is worked from stitches that are picked up along the neck cast on edge and finished with a tubular bind off.

You may shorten/ lengthen this garment by knitting less/ more body length before commencing the hem. Try on as you go and adjust accordingly.

There are several video tutorials linked to this pattern.
