Complete with hat, ruff and ball, this seal is a toy little ones are sure to love…does it get your seal of approval? Knitted mostly in stockinette, this pattern incorporates short rows for shaping, plus picking up stitches along an edge.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3mm single pointed knitting needles (US 2.5)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and domed black buttons for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The seal is 24cm long from nose to tail, and the ball is 7.5cm diameter.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
