This cheery robin red breast perching on a Yule Log makes a perfect centrepiece for your festive table.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The robin pattern incorporates intarsia colour-work for the red breast.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.25mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 3)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, toy safety eyes and stitch markers

SIZES
One size only - The log is 14 cm wide and with the robin it is 17.5 cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
