Inspired by classic seamed stockings, this minimalistic design uses a single line of knit stitches in a contrast color to mimic a seam at the back of the leg. The seam leads neatly into the integrated heel, worked also in contrast color.

These knee-high socks are worked from the cuff down. The calf is shaped for a good fit. The heel is integrated into the leg and is worked in intarsia in the round technique.

The integrated heel section has to be worked in full to achieve the correct number of stitches for the heel turn. The section adds approximately 2.5 (3, 3.25)“ to the total leg length. To shorten or lengthen the leg, work fewer or more rounds in Stockinette Stitch before the integrated heel section.
