Almost three years ago, I designed this popular, classic short-sleeved cardigan - the original Season Spanning Cardi has now been removed to make way for this one. The original only went to a 1X and folks wanted it bigger; there were also a couple of style issues I wanted to change.

This pattern is the result of increasing the sizing and those style changes that make this, IMHO, a better design.

This is a fun knit for any season: completely seamless, set-in sleeves worked from the armhole down, self-finishing edges and 3-needle-bindoff for the shoulders. Let’s throw in a simple (but flattering and fun) lace pattern and you’re set.

The sweater is designed for worsted weight fibers – the sample shown was done using Plymouth’s Fantasy Naturale in an eye-popping pink with fun lime green/turquoise buttons.

But the style would also work-up nicely with a worsted-weight wool and longer sleeves (I included notes on how to lengthen the sleeves).

Stitch patterns are both charted and row-by-row.
