I love how every handknit item stores so many memories - where you were, what you were doing, how you were feeling while working on it. Each piece acts like a little time capsule, telling a story of the season of life that you were in. That seems to be especially true for bigger projects, like blankets, that come together over a longer period of time, or projects that bring together a wider selection of yarns (each bringing with them their own unique memories). So, let’s gather our yarns, our needles, and our memories. It’s time to tell a story.

With plenty of options for customisation, your Seasons blanket is sure to be as unique as the memories attached to it. The pattern is designed to work with either DK weight yarn or fingering weight held double, and the overall size is entirely up to you. Whatever season of life you are in, this is going to be the perfect project to keep you company - not only is the blanket broken up into small, manageable sections, but there’s no seaming required and not even a single purl stitch in sight!

Sizing
Size is customisable. Each square measures roughly 15cm x 15cm. For guidance…
Baby/Stroller size (75cm x 90cm) - 5 squares wide, 6 squares tall
Toddler/Cot size (90cm x 105cm) - 6 squares wide, 7 squares tall
Single bed size (165cm x 225cm) - 11 squares wide, 15 squares tall
Double bed size (210cm x 240cm) - 14 squares wide, 16 squares tall
King bed size (270cm x 255cm) - 18 squares wide, 17 squares tall

If you are using a 20g advent calendar alongside your MC, you should be able to get 2 squares out of each mini skein, giving you 48 squares in total (6 by 8). This is the size shown in the photos and it makes the perfect lap blanket.

Yarn requirements
Pattern is designed to work with DK weight yarn or fingering weight yarn held double.

Each finished square uses roughly 10g of MC and 10g of CC. You will also need a little extra of your MC for the i-cord edging.
