The Seastar Blanket consists of 86 hexagon motifs and 8 partial motifs to fill the gaps at the top and bottom. The motifs are joined as you go, making for minimal finishing. The pattern uses the simplest crochet stitches: chain, single crochet, and double crochet.

The pattern has both written instructions and charts and also includes empty grid layouts to colorize, so you can easily visualize how the colors will play together before you pick up your hook. Choose your beloved colors and use these blank templates as your sketchpad to create your own unique design!

MATERIALS

• Yarn: West Yorkshire Spinners Aire Valley DK; DK; 252 yd / 230 m per 100 g ball; 75% Wool, 25% Nylon
• Hook: U.S. G/6 (4 mm)
• Locking stitch marker
• Yarn needle to weave in ends

YARDAGE

• 6 balls in White 011 (MC)
• 3 balls each in Orange 278 (C1) and Blueberry Bonbon 365 (C2)
• 4 balls in Navy 170 (C3)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

• 40½″ (103 cm) wide, 51¼″ (130 cm) long

The Seastar Blanket is easily adjustable, you can make it shorter or longer by working fewer or more motifs. You may also, or instead, make the motifs themselves smaller or larger by working fewer or more rounds (in this case you may also use fewer or more colors within a motif).

GAUGE

• 1 motif = 5” (13 cm) from one side to opposite side and 6” (15 cm) from one corner to opposite corner.
• Each side of motif is 2 ¾″ (7 cm) long.
• Gauge is not crucial for this pattern, as long as it is consistent for all motifs made.
