✨ The Story Behind Your Next Knit
Imagine escaping to a landscape of vibrant colors and breathtaking horizons. The Sedona Sunrise Wrap is a beautiful, oversized, three-color wrap that will remind you of those gorgeous sunrises, even from your knitting chair! This stunning piece is worked from the center out, and here’s the magic: mosaic knitting makes the complicated easy—only one color is worked at a time! It’s a surprisingly accessible way to create a truly impressive accessory.
Available in English, German, and French!
🧶 Quick Highlights:
- Difficulty: Intermediate (due to size/multiple colors), but mosaic colorwork is accessible.
- Techniques: Mosaic knitting (slipped stitches), simple increases/decreases, I-cord cast off, garter stitch.
- Construction: Worked from the center out.
- Special Features: Three-color design, oversized, easy mosaic colorwork, charted instructions (does not contain written instructions for the colorwork charts).
- Yarn Weight: Fingering weight.
📐 Sizes & Finished Measurements:
- Size: One size
- Actual Measurements:
- Width: 12” (30.5 cm) Length along longest edge: 100” (254 cm)
- Tip: Exact gauge is not critical, but a significant difference will affect the final size and yarn requirements.
🧶 Yarn Requirements :
- Recommended Yarn: Black Trillium Fibers, “Lilt Sock” (85% Merino, 15% Mulberry Silk) Fingering wt, 405 yds. (370 m), 3.5 oz (100 g)
- One skein each in:
- Color A: Phoenix Rising (Approx. 380 yds (347 m) needed)
- Color B: Sivia (Approx. 380 yds (347 m) needed)
- Color C: Black Jewel (Approx. 330 yds (300 m) needed)
- Or similar weight yarn to achieve gauge
- Note: Unfortunately Black Trillium Fibers is no longer in business, but if you can find a few skeins of Lilt Sock, it’s worth it! If not, check out the Projects Page for this pattern - some knitters have found some VERY similar colorways to the ones used in the sample.
🥢 Needles:
- US5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge, at least 20”/50 cm long
- US6 (4.0 mm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge, at least 20”/50 cm long
✂️ Notions:
- Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
- Stitch markers (7)
- Waste Yarn
📏 Gauge:
- 20 Sts / 36 Rows = 4”/10 cm in Garter Stitch using US5 (3.75 mm) needles after a light blocking
📝 Pattern Notes & Support:
- Pattern has written instructions for the garter stitch sections and charted instructions for the mosaic sections, along with a schematic to help guide the knitter.
- The pattern has been professionally technical edited and test knit to ensure a beautiful final product by Ravelry members SpinningSandy, swelge88, sanita60, and LoneStarArts.
- Note on Yarn Usage: The original sample knit contains more garter stitch rows than the pattern recommends, which caused some knitters to run out of yarn. The pattern has been updated with small changes to make a slightly smaller wrap while keeping the essence of the original design. Feel free to add additional rows in Sections B and C if you feel you have enough yarn.

📌 Ready to Cast On?
Grab your needles and yarn, and let’s create a stunning wrap that reminds you of a beautiful Sedona sunrise!
