A visit to the spectacular Hilma Af Klint/ Piet Mondrian Exhibition at Tate Modern, London and a chance meeting with Helen and Sophie of The Wool Kitchen in a nearby cafe, inspired my Segmented Circles Shawl design!

Our shared admiration for Hilma Af Klint was obvious and when Helen released her first colourway inspired by the exhibition, I knew it would be perfect for my shawl idea. My Segmented Circles shawl was originally knitted in the “Childhood” (blue) colourway and looks fantastic in any of Helen’s very special shades, including shade no 3 (orange/yellow) from the collection.

This shawl is knitted with just one ball or skein of 4ply yarn (100g, approximately 400m), making it an ideal project for a special skein of yarn.

The shawl’s asymmetric shape is created by knitting a right-angled triangle on the bias. Choose from two different interchangeable stitch patterns for the shawl body to highlight texture (shown in blue) or decorative eyelets (shown in orange)!
