A timeless plaid pattern is worked in a classic wool yarn to create the Sempiternal Wrap. Stranded colorwork keeps the knitting interesting in this rectangular wrap, which is worked in rows. Separate garter-stitch and seed-stitch borders frame the plaid while giving the design clean edges.

Yarn Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift (100% pure Shetland wool; 115 yd 105 m/ 7⁄8 oz 25 g): #292 Pine Forest (MC), 8 balls; #180 Mist (CC1), 4 balls; #423 Burnt Ochre (CC2), 3 balls. Yarn distributed by Simply Shetland.
Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Tapestry needle.
Gauge 28 sts and 32 rows = 4” in charted patt.

This wrap is worked back and forth in rows from end to end.

The charts are worked using the stranded method. Always pick up the background color over the pattern color and pick up the pattern color from under the background color. Keep floats loose. For floats longer than two stitches, tack stranded yarn on wrong side of work.
