This pattern includes a second PDF version that is formatted for knitters with low vision. It has black text, size 22 or larger text in a sans serif font, no italics, no columns, and fully-written directions. The chart is still included but is not needed to work the pattern. Many thanks to Gemma Thompson (gemmabelle here on Rav) and the Accessible Patterns group for their guidance in formatting patterns in a more accessible way.

The sentimental memento was a particularly common cover motif for romance novels in the 1990s through the early 2000s. The cover might feature a locket, a handkerchief, a bouquet of flowers, a dancing slipper, or any number of other personal items that were special to one or both of the characters in the books.

In fact, the early Bridgerton covers featured several sentimental mementos. Lorraine Heath has a particularly pretty book cover for one of her cowboy romances with some spurs, pearls, and a yellow rose. Of course, my favorite sentimental memento (Derek Craven’s stolen spectacles, IYKYK) didn’t actually get a cover so far as I can tell, but we’ll let that slide.

This pair of socks features lots of delicate little details that mimic lockets, flowers, and pretty lace trim. They are knit from the cuff down and graded to five sizes. While the front panel is heavily decorated, there is a simple stockinette back. A heel flap and gusset provide an adjustable fit, while the socks are finished with a classic wedge toe.
