CONSTRUCTION
Septima’s Movement is knit bottom up, flat, and in pieces. It is seamed after finishing and the buttonband is picked up and worked in rows of dense ribbing.
The back neck is wider than the front neck. The back raglan has more rows than the front raglan. The sleeves are finished with short rows to create a longer edge in the back of the sleeve, connecting the pieces. These small details improve the fit of the upper body.
Optional hip and bust shaping
Septima’s Movement includes hip shaping and optional bust shaping in four cup sizes.

Your best fit
Choose the size closest to your actual upper chest measurement: 29.75 (33.75, 37.75, 40.75) (43.25, 46, 49) (52, 55, 58) inches / 75.5 (85.5, 96, 103.5) (110, 117, 124.5) (132, 139.5, 147.5) cm
Upper chest is measured above the full bust, at an angle close to diagonal beneath the underarms, and straight across the back.
Septima’s Movement is designed to fit with approximately 3 inches / 7.5 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust and 1 inch / 2.5 cm of positive ease in the upper arm.
If you need additional room for the bust, working the optional short row shaping will give you the best fit in the shoulders and armholes, while still making room for your chest. Short rows add length to the front only of the garment, so that the hem does not rise in the front.
Bess is wearing size 3, cup 1, with 6 inches / 15 cm of positive ease at the full bust and 1.5 inches / 4 cm of positive ease at the upper arm. Her upper chest is 34.5 inches / 87.5 cm and she is 5’ 3” / 160 cm tall.
YARN

80% Rambouillet / 20% Targhee; 210 yds / 192 m per 56 g skein. This is a hand-dyed, multi-ply, non-superwash sport-weight yarn. This is a very soft sport-weight yarn that is lofty and has good grip. The multiple plies and even color of this yarn make it exceptional for accentuating the cables with plump, crisp, stitch definition. Shown in colorway Ti-Pêche.

GAUGE
22 sts and 36 rows in 4 inches / 10 cm worked flat in Cable Stitch with size A needles after blocking.
