This project is knit with the third sequence in our year of Sequence Washcloths. This month, we’ll work a {knit 5, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1} sequence—abbreviated in the instructions as {k5, p1, k1 twice, p1}—in a simple one-row pattern. Next month, we’ll work the same 10-stitch sequence in a serpentine method, which will change the look of the stitch pattern. In October, we’ll work a shaped sequence, and knit the washcloth from corner to corner. Then, we’ll move on to a different sequence. Each pattern will come with general instructions for sequence knitting, as well as the specific instructions for the featured washcloth.

Thanks to Knit Picks ( https://www.knitpicks.com/ ) for providing their Dishie yarn for the samples.

This washcloth is a simple project. The skills you will need to know--or learn--to complete it are:

  • cast on and bind off;
  • knit and purl.
