Seraphina
My second baby was a girl, the first girl in the family (and the only girl out of five grandchildren). Between me, her grandmothers, and her aunties—not to mention hand-me-downs and gifts from friends--she has a wardrobe to envy. And not only is it fun to dress her, but I have found a great deal of knitwear inspiration! Seraphina is loosely based on a dress she wore as a baby.
Seraphina is constructed from the bottom up in one piece. Decreases are scattered around the skirt leading up to a pleat at the waist. Work is then separated and the front and two backs are worked separately; the front neckline is shaped with short rows and a buttonband is knitted onto the back. Finally, the shoulders are grafted together and a contrast color neckband is knitted on.
Pattern is five pages long and includes a detailed schematic.
