Knit lengthwise, this shawl pattern was inspired by a visit to Mira de Aire, Portugal. The pattern reflects the foothills and mountain range that surround the town and a starry night sky.

The true beauty of the lace pattern is revealed in the blocking.

Stitch Markers were extremely useful for this pattern since the shawl was knit lengthwise, causing a large number of repeats per row.
