Setting Sun Sweater
YARN: DK-weight yarn (200 m/220 yds in 100 gr/3.5 oz) in 2 colors:
- Main Color (MC) - 350-530 gr/12.3-18.7 oz of solid color. Sample knit in Cascade 220
- Contrast color (CC) - 50-100 gr/1.8-3.5 oz of gradient yarn. Sample knit in Dundaga, can also use Chroma Worsted by Knit Picks.
NEEDLES:
- 5 mm/US 8 (or size to meet the gauge!) circulars on 60-80 cm/24-32” cable for the main body
- 4 mm/US 6 circulars on 60 cm/24” cable for the bottom rib and 40 cm/16” for the neck opening
OTHER: 3 removable stitch markers, row counter, scrap yarn/ stitch holder, tapestry needle, scissors.
GAUGE: 18 sts by 26 rows per 1010 cm/44” square after wet blocking.
The pattern has 7 sizes from XS to 3XL (finished garment bust circumference of 84-119 cm/33-47”). The sweater is intended for an average height of 168 cm. In case your height is significantly different, you should take out/ add 8-16 rows from the straight section of the body and from the sleeves (you will need to recalculate the increase rates for the sleeves!).
The sweater is knit bottom-up without any waste shaping in pieces. It has raglan sleeves, round neck (raised at the back for more comfortable fit) and a rounded elongated back.
It is intended to be worn with 2-8 cm/ 1-3” of positive ease, depending
on the size.
