Shadow Purple Top
This fun cap-sleeve top features a scoop-neck front, button-up back, and lacy body. The minimal shaping and loose fit allow the lace stitch pattern to shine!
Difficulty Intermediate
Finished Size 37 1/2 (42 1/2, 46, 49 1/4, 54 1/2)“ bust circumference (buttoned). Sample shown measures 37 1/2”, modeled with 4 1/2” positive ease.
Yarn Scheepjes Maxi Sugar Rush (100% mercerized cotton; 306 yd (280 m) / 1 3/4 oz (50 g); ): #394 shadow purple, 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) balls.
Hook Steel hook sizes 4 (2 mm) and 6 (1.8 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Stitch markers (m), 8; 1/2” wood buttons, 8; yarn needle.
Gauge 48 sts and 36 rows = 4” in linen st with larger hook; 5 shs, 10 sc, 5 ch-sps (5 patt reps) and 20 rows = 4 1/4” in fan lace patt with smaller hook.

NOTES
- Garment is worn with buttons in back. It is worked from the chest up for solid part, then chest down for lace part. Upper front and back pieces are first worked separately, then joined at underarms for body.
- When working in linen stitch, be sure to check stitch count every couple of rows as it is easy to lose track. Also, place a marker on right side for easier identification.
- When working in fans or V-stitches, work in chain-space unless otherwise stated.
- Skip row-ending slip stitches at beginning of next row.
