Shadow Work Dish Cloths
These cloths are a great way to practice the shadow work technique which is a unique way of creating textured fabric on a double knitting board. Yardage requirement is per cloth. 5 variations are included in the pattern. All-N-One Loom using 24 needles on each side and the 1 cm spacer. One of the cloths requires 25 needles. The pattern may also be made on any similar board that can come close to matching the gauge. Other Authentic Knitting Boards try substituting 2 washers for the spacers. Noble Knitters, set the rows of needles to 2 cm apart. Any worsted weight cotton yarn may be substituted.
Shadow work technique is an easy to do variant of double board stockinette. It adds attractive design and texture. The textural qualities make for great scrubbing.
Loom: Knitting Board
Specific Loom needed:
All-N-One loom using 1 cm spacer and 24-25 needles.
Other similar looms can also work the pattern
Finished size: about 7” square
Stitches Used: stockinette with shadow work.
