In Sanskrit, the autumn season is called Sharad. To embrace the arrival of autumn, consider a beanie that playfully inverts traditional fall colors. Imagine white fall leaves contrasting against a background of various shades of orange, brown, and yellow.

The Sharad beanie is a stranded colorwork beanie available in adult and child sizes. Both the sizes have completely different and unique colourwork charts. It is knitted with worsted weight/10 ply yarn and uses two colors: a main color in fall-inspired hues and a white contrast color. For a custom fit, adjust the needle size up or down to achieve your preferred head circumference.

Sample: The samples have been knitted with 2 colours of Caron Simply Soft in Ombre Gold (Main Colour) and Solids White (Contrast colour).

Sizes:

  • Adult- to fit 21”-23” head circumference and height 9.25”.
  • Child- to fit 17”-19” head circumference and height 7”.

Yardage:

  • Adult: MC-130 yds, CC-70 yds.
  • Child: MC-85 yds, CC- 40 yds.

Gauge: 19 sts and 25 rows in 4”/ 10cm with US 7 (4.5mm) needles knitted in the round and blocked.

Skill: Intermediate level expertise is required with knowledge of stranded colourwork, reading charts and managing long floats.
