Shawl by Melanie
After looking in my closet for a shawl for a summer’s night, I realized I did not have one. I wanted a shawl that was simple and elegant, but casual enough for everyday wear. After searching through many patterns, the idea came to me to create my own pattern. I have always made small alterations to patterns when I knit, so I thought, how hard could it be? This was my first time creating a pattern, and I was relatively new to knitting. It never occurred to me that anyone else would want to knit what I made until I walked into one of my favorite knitting stores and the lovely owner asked if she could post it on her blog :) I was thrilled.
The pattern is a beginner level, easy to knit, and very very quick. The yarn I used is SUPER soft, but it does shed. I used the color “Bone” (#37) for my shawl. I wanted a neutral color that would go with many of the items in my closet but I think this would look great in any color. Can’t you just see this knitted in a creamy raspberry or wine color? Hmm… Maybe I will have to cast on another….
Happy Knitting :)
