Shawl of the Wild
This easy-to-wear, reversible shawl will stay put due to its circular shape that conforms to your neck and shoulders. The generous length makes it a warm and light layer. The swing shape is graceful, attractive and versatile.
This shawl is simple enough to work in a dark yarn such as black. A row is either knitted, purled or worked in eyelet (repeats of K1, yo). It is easy on your eyes because there are no charts and no stitch counting. If you are off by a few stitches, no problem; the shawl will still be a circle.
The edging is also worked in eyelet stitch with a sawtooth edging. There is no sewing. The bottom edge is applied directly to the live stitches.
The shawl has equal numbers of knitted and purled stitches, and a garter stitch edge so it naturally lays completely flat with no curled edges to battle.
Yarn requirements: 6 skeins of Cascade Heritage 6, fingering weight, in color #5734, Mossy Rock.
Heritage 6 is a strong and soft yarn with a good twist; necessary qualities for a go-to shawl you will want to have handy and wear often.
Needles
US Size 5/3.25 mm 40”/100 cm circular needles, 1 straight US Siz 5/3.25 mm needle (optional, for Edging).
