Shawl The Minis
use code “FinallyKnitThoseMinis” for 45% off until August 15.
For those of us who feel the call of mini-skeins. (How many minis do we love? Shawl of them!) This shawl uses 9 mini skeins. Easy to adapt to be smaller in size, or bigger if you’ve got extra yarn, this shawl hits just right for both playing with colour and knitting a simple project.
I designed this to fill two needs:
1) a simple-to-knit, potato-chippy shawl that would work well as a travel project
2) a mini skein pattern where the minis are used the same proportion throughout
Knit with 6 increases every 2 rows, the triangle is longer at the top and easier to wear than a traditional triangular shawl with a 4-st increase rate.
This shawl alternates 4 rows of stockinette in the contrast colours with garter ridges in the main colour. In Section 1, one garter ridge separates the colours; in Section 2, two ridges separate them; and in Section 3, three ridges. Finally, we edge the shawl with a delicate section of eyelet lace.
Checklist and stitch counts provided.
