El chal Sheep life está inspirado en la vida de las ovejas de la Sierra de Loja (Granada, España), que he tenido la suerte de conocer en persona. Se trata de una raza autóctona en peligro de extinción.

Es un chal semicircular (medio Pi). Comienza con un montaje de lengüeta al que siguen tres secciones. La primera en punto elástico retorcido representa los corrales donde las ovejas se refugian para dar a luz (el resto del año viven libres a la intemperie). La segunda sección continúa el punto elástico retorcido, pero comienza a aparecer bodoques, como si fueran pequeñas ovejitas que salen del refugio buscando el pasto fresco. La última sección está formada por un precioso calado que quiere recordar a las florecillas de las que se alimentan estos entrañables animales. El chal se cierra también con bodoques.

Tres madejas de Lojeña de Save the Sheep (40% lana de oveja lojeña, 60% merino español) (200 m/100 g).

Puedes usar otro hilado de grosor worsted de composición similar. Te aconsejo la Rústica de dLana.

MATERIALES

• Agujas circulares de 6,5 mm (o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión) y cable de, al menos, 80 cm.
• Agujas circulares del tamaño superior a las anteriores (para el cierre).
• Marcadores.
• Hilo de desecho.
• Ganchillo de 6 mm.

The Sheep life shawl is inspired by the life of the sheep of the Sierra de Loja (Granada, Spain), which I had the luck of meeting in person. They are an endangered breed native to Spain.

This is a semi-circular (half Pi) shawl. It begins with a garter tab cast-on, from which come three sections. The first is in twisted rib to represent the pens in which the sheep seek refuge when it is time to give birth (during the rest of the year they live freely outdoors). The second section continues with the twisted rib, but also bobbles begin to appear as if they were little sheep just coming out of their refuge looking for fresh pasture. The last section is shaped with a delicate lace that is intended to remind you of the little flowers that these endearing animals feed on. The shawl is bound off with a bobble bind off.

YARN
Three skeins of Lojeña by Save the Sheep (40% Lojeña wool, 60% Spanish merino) (200m/100g).

You can use any other worsted weight yarn of a similar composition. I advise the Rústica by dLana.

MATERIALS

• 6,5mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) and a cable of at least 80cm.
• 7mm circular needles.
• Stitch markers.
• Waste yarn.
• 6mm crochet hook.

Sheep life è uno scialle ispirato alle pecore della Sierra de Loja (Granada, Spagna), che ho avuto la fortuna di vedere dal vivo. La loro è una razza originaria della Spagna a rischio di estinzione.

Questo è uno scialle semi-circolare (in inglese: un half Pi shawl). Comincia con un avvio garter tab dal quale partono tre sezioni. La prima, a coste ritorte, rappresenta il recinto nel quale le pecore cercano riparo quando sono in procinto di partorire (il resto dell’anno vivono liberamente all’aria aperta). La seconda sezione continua con le coste ritorte cui si aggiungono delle noccioline a raffigurare le pecore, appena uscite dal recinto, alla ricerca di freschi pascoli. L’ultima sezione è caratterizzata da un pizzo delicato, a ricordare i fiori di cui si nutrono questi adorabili animali. La chiusura delle maglie si fa con una chiusura con delle noccioline.

Puoi usare qualunque altro filato di spessore Worsted con una composizione simile. Ti consiglio di usare il Rústica di dLana.

• Ferri circolari della misura superiore a quelli primi (per la chiusura).
• Marcapunti.
• Filato di scarto.
• Uncinetto da 6mm.
