Did you ever try to knit stripes lengthwise? It’s not easy and it often doesn’t look very pretty. Not that way with “Sheila”! Here your work the small front part first, then you pick up stitches from both edges on the left and right and continue working side and back parts sideways. The result: Although you work the stripes in rows they seem to be lengthwise.

A very easy to knit sweater even for beginners. The button band on the back is just a “fake”. So you don’t need to work buttonholes.
