Sheltie Triangle
This simple, everyday triangle in three sizes (doll, petite, tall) is distinguished by the fluid drama of its scalloped hem, the waves of which are further accentuated by using a random mix of natural colors, to be determined by the knitter. The hem lace is a variation of the easy-to-work feather and fan motif, used in traditional Scottish hap shawls. This design is a tribute to those timeless beauties, now worked in a modern, one-piece construction. Because the hap was a workaday garment, this design is named for the Shetland sheepdog, a working animal which also sports a coat of dramatic shading in brown, gray, and white fur.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size.
Original sample, size petite in Brooklyn Tweed Loft, Fossil (light), Woodsmoke (medium) and Soot (dark)
Also shown:Apples in Clover Tam
Matching motif: Sheltie Square
