Inspired by the historic Gansey sweaters I saw at the Sheringham museum, Sheringham, UK, this pullover V-neck vest worked in American Ewe Fingering yarn is sure to be your new favorite vest. Incredible stitch definition and a soft hand make American Ewe the perfect yarn for this project. Gansey sweaters offer the perfect playground for ergonomic exploration. Be sure to read the Ergo Notes throughout the pattern to make this a very comfortable knitting experience!

The body of this vest is worked in the round to underarm. Markers are placed to identify panels at the sides of the garment that continue from the lower edge to the underarm. The panels are bound off at the underarm and the front stitches are placed on a holder while the back is worked. Left and right fronts are worked separately to create the V-neck. Shoulders are joined. Stitches are picked up at each armhole and neckline to apply bands.
