These mittens are simple to make but include a couple of unique skills for beginner knitters. They have a Latvian braid which is very simple to do (I link a tutorial in the pattern). The knitter will need to know how to M1 and decrease by k2tog and ssk.

My shetland mittens have a fun and whimsical little tassel on the back of the hand for little ones to play with.

No chart is available for this pattern at this time. The user is encouraged to sketch their own chart (tips are provided in the pattern).

Mittens could be completed in one color if preferred.
