Shoalwater is a twisted racerback summer vest with a lovely draped lace front. Knit in a cool cotton/linen blend and at a loose gauge, this vest works up very quickly and has incredible, lightweight drape and flowing summer style. It is knit flat from the bottom to the armholes in one piece and then the back and fronts are knit separately. The front lace panels are repeats of a beautifully simple lace stitch and are knit just like a scarf. Finally, all the pieces are seamed together making use of a few different grafting and finishing techniques, all of which are explained in depth. NOTE ABOUT SIZING:
This vest is designed to be loose and flowing with 1” of positive ease at the bust (plus lace panels that can overlap entirely) and 7” of positive ease at the bottom hem. The amount of drape you will get is very dependent on the yarn chosen as well as the gauge. If you are substituting a different yarn (especially one without linen in it!), knit a good sized swatch first to make sure you are getting the right gauge!
