A pretty stitch pattern using a mix of star stitch and the broomstick lace technique creates the “shooting stars” effect used in this cowl.

This piece is worked back and forth in rows to make an “L” shape. The ends of the “L” are then stitched together to make a cowl where the corner of the “L” makes the downward triangular point of the cowl. You can adjust the number of repeats of rows depending on your gauge and size of “broomstick” used; therefore gauge is not critical.

You will need a “broomstick” (i.e. a ruler or large diameter knitting needle) for this project.
