The tulip-like bells the adorn Irina Poludnenko’s vivid shawl are created with stockinette short rows (see how-to photos). The blue background is knit in garter stitch in Silk Garden Sock Solo #S3 with four-row garter stripes in the blues, greens and purples of Silk Garden Sock #S8. Beginning with just three stitches, the shawl increases along one edge only.
