Sideling Top
For me, the Sideling top perfectly embodies summer knitting: quick, easy, soft, and breathable. It is worked flat in two pieces which are then joined together. The straps are created separately and sewn in place.
The garment is knitted sideways, from centre front to centre back on each side. This construction serves the design in two ways: “vertical” stripes have never been so easy! It also allows for a 3-needles bind off at the centre back and front, creating a beautiful design feature.
