A sideways-knit textured shawl that is attractive on both sides.

Pattern includes both charted and written instructions.

Sidewinder is quick and fun to knit in a DK yarn, but it can easily be adapted to suit any weight of yarn. It’s a great one-skein project in fingering weight (with fewer repeats). The construction of this shawl allows you to customize the length and depth of your shawl easily to suit any yarn choice or size preference.

If you choose to knit Sidewinder in a fingering weight yarn (or any other yarn), to ensure you do not run out of yarn, you may wish to weigh your yarn and divide it into two equal balls. When you finish the first half of your shawl and begin your second ball of yarn, knit one less repeat of the shawl body than you did in the first half before you begin the decreases, and you’ll make sure your yardage doesn’t fall short.
