Silken Lounge Socks
This pattern is
available from biscotte.org
for $6.00.
“Socks are the ultimate in portable knitting. You can squeeze in a few rounds anytime. Using DK weight yarn means that there will be fewer stitches on the needles and the knee-high length will be done in no time.
I designed these socks to be a fun but relaxing knit. It features a princess sole, an easy to memorize cable and lace pattern, and when it’s time for the long cuff a simple 2x2 ribbing on the back of the leg makes for a comfortable rhythm.“
.
In addition to the knitting pattern, you need the following materials to knit Silken Lounge socks:
- Louise Robert Yarns Collection – DK Pure (90% Merino Superwash and 10% Silk, 238 m / 260 yds, 115g) – 2 skeins, 230g illustrated in color Avonlea
- Circular or double-pointed needles of 3.75 mm (US #5) (or size needed to obtain gauge), circular or double-pointed needles of 3.5 mm (US #3) (or size needed to obtain gauge).
- Cable needle
- Row counter
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
GAUGE : 24 stitches x 32 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch with 3.75 mm
SIZE : Adult size
- Circumference unstretched: 17.5 cm; 7 in
- Foot length: adjustable
NOTE : The ribbed nature of this sock makes it suitable for many leg widths. There is plenty of stretch. These socks are knit from the toe up with an afterthought heel. For the comfort of the wearer, a princess sole is used. This means the smooth knit side of the sole is inside the sock.
