This pattern is one of three under the heading “Plaited Bread Cables”.

From the book:
“Handling the soft strands of dough and making a big, fat plait with them is a lovely tactile experience, and seeing it come out of the oven as a thick, fused edible braid with a wonderful surface pattern is very rewarding. This bread-making inspired me to transfer a simple classic, traditional plaited pattern to a similarly large-scale, modern textile in the form of these soft, textural (almost sculptural), cabled projects knitted in the thickest, softest yarn imaginable. The results are a squishy, plump blanket edged in traditional blanket stitching, a toe-warming rug for cold days, and a cushion cover with giant loaf cables, all of which have the same texture and message of comfort as a loaf of freshly baked bread.”
