Easy enough to be made as a knitter’s first garment, this Simple Vest has minimal shaping for maximum effect, and with chunky 14ply yarn and thick needles it’s super quick to knit up. The pattern is detailed and includes extra notes to help the novice knitter. A throw over vest is just what you need to stay warm this winter – cast on today!

Materials

• Cropped length – 4 (4, 5, 5, 6){7, 7, 8, 8} balls Fiddlesticks Peppin 14ply, or 4 (4, 4, 5, 5){6, 6, 7, 8} balls Katia Ultralight Merino
• Regular length – 5 (6, 6, 7, 8,){8, 9, 10, 11} balls Fiddlesticks Peppin 14ply, or 5 (5, 6, 6, 7){8, 8, 9, 9} balls Katia Ultralight Merino
• 6.5mm needles for Peppin or 7mm needles for Ultralight Merino
• 2 stitch-holders
• a tape measure
• wool needle for sewing seams and ends
