My Simple baby cardi was the first item I designed and has always been a best seller. With some customers having made all of the sizes I’ve had many requests for a bigger version so here it is. Garter stitch is my favourite for a classic, timeless yet modern feel. I’ve added a trim to the fronts and neck which isn’t on the original but this is optional and can be made without. I also use a button that is slightly bigger than normal as it looks better as there’s only 1 needed.

The cardi is knit up from the bottom of the back where the stitches are divided and each front is worked down to the hem. Stitches are picked up across the shoulder and the sleeves knit downwards too. The trim along the front and neck is knit last but is optional.
