Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.

A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!

  • No Code – Full Price = $8.00 CAD
  • PK10 – 10% off = $7.20 CAD
  • PK20 – 20% off = $6.40 CAD
  • PK30 – 30% off = $5.60 CAD

I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.

This design is for a pillow cover knit with alternating single rounds of stripes on the purl side of the fabric. The pillow could be reversible as well to have the knit side facing out if preferred. The pillow cover is knit in the round to create a tube, turned inside out to show the purl side of the fabric, and then the top and bottom will be seamed around a 16” x 16” pillow insert. By having the purl side of the fabric facing out, the purl dash lines create a cool effect with the alternating striping! Using Knit Picks Swish Bulky, this design works up in no time!

gauge

Gauge
In stockinette, worked flat, blocked
4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm) = ~14 sts x 18 rows

Size
Creates a pillow cover that is
approximately 16” x 16” (40 cm x 40 cm)
Note: the actual length measurement of the pillow cover before putting it over the pillow insert will be a bit less than 16” as it
is designed to have a little negative length ease.

Yarn
Any bulky weight yarn that you can get gauge with.
I used Knitpicks Swish Bulky (137 yds per 100 g ball) in Bare (Colour 1/C1) and Squirrel Heather (Colour 2/C2)

Yardage
C1: ~92 grams/126 yards
C2: ~79 grams/109 yards
Yardage is an approximation. Different gauge will result in differences in yardage, but this is a good estimate to go on! Depending on the stretchiness of your yarn you may need to add a bit of length (and therefore extra yardage)
