A stunning lace shawl which shows perfectly the different results that can be achieved using the most basic of knitting techniques: knit or purl decreases paired with yarn over stitches. The look of it stitch pattern varies greatly depending on where and which way the decreases are worked.

The shawl is worked from the top down. The shape is created with five identical triangles, which are increased every fourth row on each side of the triangle. The shawl is worked alternating between two different needle sizes to accommodate the lesser elasticity of the St st compared to the lace sections.
