Simply Speedy Santa Stocking
Written in UK terms, this simple stocking works up super fast due to the treble crochet (US double crochet) stitch. Pages 1 and 2 contain the pattern, while pages 3 and 4 contain photo-heavy step by step instructions for turning the heel, giving you the option of printing the full thing or pattern-only.
Using DK with 4mm and 5mm hooks gives you a finished measurement of 10.5”(L) by 3.75”(W). Length can be adjusted by working more or fewer even rows in the leg or foot. You could also use aran (5mm and 6mm hook), chunky (6mm and 7mm hook) or super-chunky (7mm and 8mm hook) to change the overall size.
Pattern in DK requires less than 50g of the main colour and less than 5g each of the accent colour (for toe and heel) and the contrast colour (CC) for the cuff. Play around with colours, add stripes, add the scalloped cuff or leave it plain - it works up so quickly that you could have a row of stockings hanging from your mantel in no time.
