Singularity Sweater
Update 11.11.10: Downloaded updated pattern!<p>This top features a mod, single stripe design in two contrasting
colours. It is knitted entirely seamless, in the round, top-down, with raglan style sleeves. This pattern is perfect for showing off the colour changes in hand dyed yarns. This pattern can be easily adjusted to fit to your exact measurements, gauge, or yarn weight. <p>This is a very simple
design, great for a beginner, or the mindless knitting project! <p>The colour changes in this pattern uses the fair isle technique. To those of you who are new to fair isle knitting, here is a link to a wonderful step-by-step tutorial: http://knitting.about.com/od/knittingskills/ss/fair-isle.htm

This is a fundraising sale!! 100% of profits go directly to sending Luna to America!:)
Luna’s Story:
Currently I am working with an NGO devoted to offering medical care to ill and injured street dogs of Kathmandu, Nepal. (See www.streetdogcare.org to learn more!)
On the full moon of June, a 3 month old puppy was hit by a taxi right outside our Dog Care Center. Her accident resulted in one amputated leg and injuries on all her other three feet.**
I nursed her back to health and for several weeks she relied on me for all her means of movement.**
With only 3 legs at such a young age, there wasn’t a very good chance Luna would be able to survive back on the streets. And unfortunately, adoption and good pet care isn’t readily seen in this culture. So what to do with this special little handicapped puppy?**
As the days passed, I begin to realize I can’t just leave her behind in Kathmandu, so now I’ve decided to take her back to the United States where I can give her the best medical care as she ages and perhaps even a prosthetic leg!**
However, flying all the way to the other side of the world with a three-legged puppy comes with a price tag that would make you faint! So every sale of this pattern will go directly towards Luna’s plane ticket to the USA where she can begin her new life in beautiful Portland, Oregon. From Luna and from myself… thank you so much for your generous support and kind heart….(and interest in my pattern too!!);)**
Sincerely,
~Jessika and Luna
~~~~Luna’s Update!~~~~
After a mess of a flight, being stranded in Delhi for a week, and enduring 40 hours of treacherous travel, Luna and I have made it safely back to the United States! Thank you so very much for everyone’s kind love and support in helping to make Luna’s new home possible:)!!
This pattern, and all my pattern sales will remain as fundraising, and 100% of profits will go directly to Luna’s Support, to help pay for her vet bills and the debt acrued for her airline flight!
Luna is enjoying her new home, although missing all her Nepali friends! And I must admit, she is getting a bit spoiled here…sleeping on plush carpet with all the bones she can chew, and a brand new pull-cart so she can still enjoy long walks when she gets tired, is lot more luxurious life than the streets!
From the bottom of our hearts, Luna and I offer a big hug and THANK YOU!!!:) thank you! thank you! thank you!!
Thank you so very,very much for all of you who helped me in raising the funds to get Luna here!! All my Ravelry pattern sales are continuing to go to a “Luna Fund,” helping me to pay for all her expenses, including the new front leg brace that will hopefully be hers in the near future!:)
And I can’t thank you enough for all your kind words about Street Dog Care! Ravelry is an amazing community filled with compassionate, loving people, I am glad to be a part of it with you!:)
