Sìthean Tabard
The Sìthean Tabard is an elegant and versatile garment designed with Scottish beaches in mind. It provides slightly less coverage than a jumper and can be worn in multiple ways: as a tabard, a shawl or a wrap; with the knitted belt or an existing belt, or without.
The name has multiple meanings, matching the versatility of the garment. Amongst other things, Sìthean means a mound, barrow or meeting-place of the fairies.
The Sìthean Tabard is worked in the round, keeping the cables and wrapped stitches worked on the right side, then steeked to keep things interesting but effortless. There’s a little extra finishing on this garment, but it’s worth every stitch and, let’s face it, the more time we spend with wool the better.
Pattern is written for 7 sizes from 97 cm (38.75 in) to 172.5 cm (69 in) bust / chest circumference (finished measurement).
