Sixpence Hat
The Sixpence Hat takes its name from the six coin cables stacked up the side of the beanie version of this hat. The sixpence was retired in 1980, but once represented six pennies or “pence” to the British. You can choose to make your hat in a deeper slouch style by going to eightpence!
The coin cable shares space on this hat with an open twisted-stitch braid, and they both beautifully fade away at the crown to form a beanie or slouch-style hat. Twisted stitches and cables sit comfortably on a background of purl stitches to make a crisp, classic look. Try one for yourself!
