Sizzle Pop
Purchase the POP! e-book and receive three patterns :: Sizzle Pop, Pop Fizzle, and Pop Twizzle!
Satisfy your brioche cravings with Sizzle Pop :: Two shawl patterns in one, both with an all-over chevron lace detail, knit using the two-color brioche stitch! The triangle shawl is the ideal spring and summer accessory for chilly evenings, while the square shawl is great for doubling up and wrapping around your neck or shoulders on cold winter days. Both patterns can be easily modified for a larger or smaller shawl.

Square version
Triangle version
This is a very special collaboration for KNIT in COLOR, using beautiful custom colorways developed and created together with Michele from Republic of Wool and Maria from Fern Fiber for the square version. The triangle version uses Monet, of my favorite colorways created by Hedgehog Fibres, combined with delightful Havirland yarns.
A Czech Translation is available for the triangle shawl! Click on the pattern download button on the top right of this page and you will have the option of downloading an alternative Czech Version (Many thanks to Katerina Rajmicová Vevka for translating!)
A Spanish Translation is available for the square shawl! Click on the pattern download button on the top right of this page and you will have the option of downloading an alternative Spanish Version (Many thanks to Adriana Bon Ramos Nanoadri for translating!)
Skill level: Intermediate. Basic two color brioche skills are not required, but are recommended. Techniques used: brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), brioche increases and decreases. The square shawl is knit flat from corner to corner, and the triangle shawl is knit on the bias from tip to edge, both using a large circular needle to accommodate large number of stitches.
Both patterns are written and charted, for your convenience! The square version would make a delightful baby blanket!
Sizes: (measured after blocking)
Triangle :: 53” / 134.6cm wingspan x 27” / 68.5cm depth
Square :: 35” / 88.9cm x 35” / 88.9cm square
Gauge: 25 sts x 28 rows = 4” / 10cm; measured in two-color brioche chevron lace stitch (taken after blocking).
Swatching for these shawls is a great way to play with different colors, to see what will work! If you’re finding that two colors aren’t working as well as you might have hoped, switch which one is the Main Color! Two-color brioche is a fantastic way to use some of those fabulous speckled or variegated yarns in your stash!
