Skyline Scarf
This pattern is available via LoveCrafts!
The Shenandoah National Park, through which Skyline Drive snakes, is very close to my home in the mountains of Virginia. At all times of year we like to go up in the Park for quick hikes with the dog and kids.
This deceptively simple scarf is inspired by the winding Skyline Drive itself, which is the same every time—and yet, never the same from visit to visit. It uses a reversible faux cable rib stitch reminiscent of the twists and turns of the roads, tire tracks, even the ridges of the mountains themselves.
As written, the scarf uses two skeins of Stitch Sprouts Yellowstone, to result in a generously long and cozy scarf. If you wish to use just one skein, I recommend cutting the fringe pieces first. Then you can knit the body until you run out of yarn. Your finished scarf will be approximately 14in / 35.5cm shorter than designed, at the same row gauge.
