As we wander through the last days of summer a sweet, simple project seems best. A classic pair of socks ribbed with a hint of nostalgia- a nod to the simpler times. The days of sleepaway camps, making new friends and bare feet running across pine needles. These socks have stitched into them the song of the mourning dove at sunset, the gentle breeze through the trees after a warm summer day, and the lap of the lake that loons will call across at night. They are the socks of new friendships and old memories.

I teamed up with Little Lionhead Knits and Knitting Nellie to bring you kits! There are a limited amount, so if you’re hoping to get one the update is on 8/21/25 at 5 pm EST here and Little Lionhead Knits’ yarn update will be on 8/22/25 here.

Socks are cast on at the cuffs and worked from the top down seamlessly in the
round. The heel is worked as a traditional heel flap & gusset. The foot of the sock is also worked in the
round down to the toes which are grafted closed with Kitchener Stitch.
