This colorwork cowl is worked in the round. It features large floral motifs, and a pointed thorn garter-stitch edging. This would be a great starter project to learn to knit colowork and Fair Isle patterns.

The pattern requires 1 skein each of Virtual Yarns 2-ply Hebridean, 100% British wool in: Red Rattle (dark red), Machair (dark green), Golden Plover (golden yellow), Clover (fuschia), Whin (light yellow), Corn Crake (dark yellow-green), Sundew (Gold), and Wild Orchid (purple). Suggested other yarns to use would include Knit Picks Palette, or Harrisville Shetland. Note that the pattern does not use an entire skein of any of the colorways, but you will need approximately 2/3 of a skein of the Red Rattle (dark red), which is the main color, and between 1/4 and 1/2 of a skein of the remaining colors.

Designer Notes:
The tale of Sleeping Beauty has always been one of my favorites. I love imagining sleeping in my castle turret while sweet-smelling roses and thick thorny vines grew up to protect my bedroom. Being rescued from a long nap by a handsome prince is just the icing on the cake.

This pattern is also included in the Legendary Knits, volume 1, collection.
