{This pattern has been updated to shift the thumb placement for more comfortable wear.}
Stay warm and stay silly! Make these mittens so that you can grab stuff with your beak and look skeptically at things with your goosey eyes.
The mittens knit up fast using bulky yarn and are sure to make you happy.
See below to find out who Sleeping Goose is.

And about Sleeping Goose:
These mittens were inspired by a large stuffed animal goose one of my kids bought for another when they were around 5 and 8 years old. And as he often used to do for the kids, my husband conferred a personality on it.
Sleeping Goose’s backstory has expanded over the years, but what you mainly need to know is this: He has a demented obsession with making sure everyone goes to sleep at night. He ensures this by administering “sleeping pecks” until the recipient/victim falls asleep. Of course, nobody can actually fall asleep while being vigorously pecked by a large stuffed goose. The way to get Sleeping Goose to cease the barrage of pecking, you have to close your eyes and pretend to snore. At that point, Sleeping Goose will sit back contentedly and say in a satisfied voice, “Works every time.”
