Like scales in music the cables in this pattern first increase and move up the scale and then decrease to move down the scale. The movement of size in the cables creates the shaping in the body of the tam.

The yarn is a gorgeous gradient merino by Schoppel-Wolle, but any double knitting yarn would yield beautiful results as well.

This Tam is worked in panels. Sizing is achieved by adding or subtracting panels.
